Still trembling from the last storm, my sinners? 🌪️

💥 Rita on her knees, Munni’s sobs echoing, and Rajveer’s fury cutting sharper than any blade… tonight, the truth has teeth. Nothing that enters this room will leave unchanged. 💥

So tell me—

😈 Who breaks first—the sinner, the innocent, the protector… or the very walls that witness it all? 👀🔥

Step back inside.
The storm isn’t over yet.

Chapter 85: The Weight of Truth

The door shut with a muted thud, echoing like a warning.

Silence fell—thick, suffocating, unforgiving.

Rita stood near the center of the room, her bundle clutched to her chest like a shield against the heavy eyes around her.

Munni remained pressed against her side, thumb tucked into her mouth, fearful eyes darting between faces she had once trusted unquestioningly.

Aditya lingered near the door, alert, tense—ready to step in if tempers broke loose.

Rajveer did not sit.

He stood by the window, his back to them, hands clasped behind him so tightly that his knuckles whitened.

The wind rattled the neem branches outside, as though the night itself awaited what was coming.

“You know why you are here,” he said at last, without turning.

His voice was steady.

Too steady.

Rita’s throat seized.

She nodded, her eyes fixed to the floor. “Ji, Thakur Shahab.”

“You drugged me.”

A pause.

“You drugged my wife.”

The words struck like a hammer.

“What?” Aditya snapped with shock and anger in his voice.

Rajveer did not turn—yet the weight of his stare silenced Aditya.

Munni whimpered at the sudden hardness in his tone.

Rita dropped to her knees.

“I did,” she whispered, her forehead pressed to the cold stone beneath her. "I sinned,” she breathed. “I deserve whatever punishment you give.”

“Punishment?” Rajveer turned then—slowly, deliberately. His eyes were darker than she had ever seen them, stripped of warmth, stripped of mercy. “Do you understand what you stole from us that night?”

Rita shook, her tears darkening the Kashmiri rug underneath. “I never meant to hurt anyone,” she sobbed. She had only wanted to help—to ease Thakurain’s sorrow—but the confession stuck in her throat.

“You meant enough,” he cut in sharply, stepping closer. “It was never meant for me—and yet I drank it. Isn’t that the truth?” Rajveer leaned his face inches away from Rita, his gaze stripping her soul bare.

Rita lowered her eyes as tears welled up, feeling the weight of her mistake crushing her.

Meenal flinched.

Her hand flew instinctively to her stomach.

Rajveer noticed.

The change was subtle—almost invisible—but Aditya saw it. The brief falter in Rajveer’s rage. The flicker of fear that replaced fury for just a moment.

Aditya didn’t yet understand the drug or the sin—but he understood its weight: Rita had shaken Rajveer to his core.

Meenal took a breath that trembled too much to be steady. “Thakur Shahab… please.”

He closed his eyes.

Just for a heartbeat.

“This is not about us right now,” she continued softly, her voice strained but firm. “This is about what is inside me.”

Rita looked up sharply.

Rajveer turned to his wife at once. “You shouldn’t be here,” he said, his edge dulling. “Go inside. You need rest.”

“No,” Meenal replied. “I won’t leave until the truth is spoken.”

Rajveer inhaled deeply, then looked back at Rita. “You did not just sin,” he said quietly to Rita. “But a crime—you know what will happen if your plan goes through."

Rita nodded solemnly, her eyes hollow with regret.

Rajveer's words hung heavy in the air, the weight of their consequences settling between them.

"This is why I wanted to leave,” Rita whispered, realization dawning. “I don’t deserve your kindness. This haveli was my home—and I have shamed it.”

Rajveer sighed slightly, his expression softening.

Aditya’s jaw tightened.

Meenal’s breath hitched.

"Thakur Shahab… Let's talk about all this later."

“Later,” Rajveer replied, firm but not unkind.

"Later, when no child is sobbing out her pain and confusion in front of us," Meenal added.

He glanced at Munni, curled behind Rita, clutching her sari—small and shaking. Munni's tear-streaked face peeked out from behind Rita, her eyes wide with fear and uncertainty.

Rajveer closed his eyes and exhaled slowly.

"Rita, take Munni and feed her," he said softly, gesturing for Rita to comfort the distressed child. "We can discuss this later, when she's not around," he added, understanding the importance of protecting Munni from unnecessary stress.

Rita remained glued to her spot, but one angry glance from Rajveer was enough to make her quickly pick up Munni and take her away to soothe her.

Aditya remained standing by the door, watching the scene unfold with a mixture of concern and unease. "Bhai, what drug were you talking about earlier?" he asked, unable to contain his curiosity any longer.

"Leave, Aditya. I am in no mood to discuss this right now," Rajveer replied, his tone firm. "Make sure Rita doesn't leave, and keep your distance. I don't want more whispers in this haveli."

Aditya nodded, understanding the seriousness in Rajveer's voice, and decided to stay put until further instructions were given.

With everyone gone, the room fell eerily quiet. Meenal laid a hand on Rajveer’s shoulder. "Thakur Shahab, I know you're going through a lot right now."

Rajveer turned and pulled Meenal into his arms, seeking comfort in her embrace. "I don't know, Mennal, I just can't seem to shake this feeling of unease." Meenal held him tighter, silently. "Rita committed such a big sin, yet I can't seem to blame her."

"You too think that her sin has brought us closer than years of marriage ever did?" Meenal whispered, her voice barely audible.

Rajveer nodded, his eyes red and filled with tears. "I never thought betrayal could bring us together like this," he admitted softly.

Meenal wiped away his tears as she put his hand on her belly. "I was thinking the same; maybe her sin was a blessing in disguise for us," she said, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. "Maybe it was meant to bring us closer and make us stronger as a couple."

"But Rita committed the ultimate betrayal," Rajveer added, his voice breaking. "I never imagined she could hurt us like this."

Meenal squeezed his hand reassuringly, knowing that they would get through this together.

"Then punish her, but harshly," Meenal suggested, her eyes filled with determination. "Maybe her motive was good; it's just her method was wrong."

"Wrong method. You said my mind was still stuck on things from that day. It was not me, but Aditya, who drank that mild Rita drug. What if she had a good motive but went about it the wrong way?"

Rajveer pondered, his brow furrowed in thought.

"No matter, even if Aditya drank that, the things that happened to us would have never happened if it weren't for you."

"And how are you so sure when you can't even remember the night we shared?" Rajveer retorted, his voice tinged with frustration.

"Because I know myself well enough to know that I would never do something like that," she replied confidently.

"Even without memory, I know that it is you, my husband, not Aditya.”

“Yes, there was a time I was with him, but now life has changed, and I am committed to you," she explained, her eyes filled with sincerity.

"Even drugged, I know what's wrong and what's right, and cheating on you is definitely not something I would ever do," she added firmly.

Rajveer's expression softened as he realized the truth in her words, a sense of relief washing over him.

"Such strong words. I have never doubted your loyalty for a second," he replied, pulling her into a warm embrace.

"I can doubt myself, but never you," he whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. "You left everything for my son to fulfill your dying sister's wish, and that speaks volumes about the kind of person you are," he murmured, feeling grateful for having her in his life.

They held each other—but the truth still waited, a shadow looming over the haveli, ready to test them again.

😈 Devil’s Note 💋

Ohhh… my brave, trembling sinners…

Did you feel the room close in?
That silence before truth is spoken—the kind that shakes walls, hearts, and faith itself? 🌪️💔

You drugged me. You drugged my wife.
Tell me… didn’t that land like a blade to the chest? ⚔️
No screams. No chaos. Just restraint so sharp it hurt to breathe.

Rita on her knees… not begging for mercy, but confessing to sin she knows cannot be undone.
Munni clinging, small and frightened—innocence caught in the crossfire of adult mistakes. 😞
And Rajveer… ohhh, Rajveer—anger not loud, not wild—but terrifying in its control. The kind that makes the strongest legs buckle. 🔥

Did you notice it?
That moment when fury faltered… just for a heartbeat… when Meenal’s hand went to her stomach?
That’s when you knew—this wasn’t just about betrayal anymore.
This was about consequences. About how one wrong choice ripples through lives that never asked to be shaken. 🌊

And Meenal… standing firm, refusing to leave, refusing to break—choosing truth even when it hurts.
Trust without memory. Loyalty without proof. Love strong enough to stand inside fire. 💔

So tell me, my sinners…

💔 Can a sin still bind hearts closer than years of honesty?
🔥 Can punishment heal what regret has torn open?
👀 And when truth finally steps into the light… who will it save—and who will it destroy?

Hold your breath.

Because the truth has been spoken…
but its weight has only just begun to crush.
