✨ Chapter 66: The Fall of Silence

The thud came before the scream.
By the time Rajveer caught her, Meenal’s body had gone limp—her saree slipping from her shoulder like surrender itself.

“Meenal—” His voice broke as he held her upright, her head lolling against his chest.
Around them, the soft shuffle of feet began—the servants, startled by the noise, whispering like restless shadows.

“Call the vaid—” one of them began, but Rajveer’s tone sliced through the air.
“No one will speak of this,” he ordered, his voice low but trembling. "Take care of Arun." He said, passing Arun, who was staring wide-eyed at his mother's unconscious form but remained frozen in place.

His small fingers clutched the edge of Meenal's saree, as if seeking comfort in the familiar fabric. Rajveer's heart clenched at the sight, knowing he had to be strong for both of them now. And sent Arun away.

The house fell silent again. Even the koel outside seemed to hold its cry.

He gathered Meenal in his arms, her bangles clinking faintly—the only sound that dared to exist. Her skin was cold, her lips pale. The scent of jasmine from her hair mingled with the panic in his breath.
