✨ Chapter 65: The Word that Broke the Silence

Morning light spilled across the veranda, warm and drowsy.
Arun slept on the rug, his chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm with his toys scattered around him.

Meenal’s laughter—soft, almost hesitant—floated through the room. For the first time in weeks, there was color in her cheeks again.

"Satan, tired of playing and now sleeping on the ground," Meenal mumbled, kissing Arun's forehead gently before turning to gaze out at the peaceful garden beyond the veranda.

She bent to lift her son. Her arms trembled, but she smiled through it. “Come, Arun, let’s get you to bed; the sun is high." She spoke to sleeping Arun, knowing he wouldn't hear her words but feeling comforted by her presence nonetheless.

Rajveer was by the doorway, half in shadow. He had not slept the night before. His eyes followed her—every small movement, every breath—as though each one could shatter or save the fragile peace they had built.

“Careful,” he said quietly. “Let me take him.”

Meenal shook her head, still smiling. “I can manage. I am not so weak now.”
She gathered Arun into her arms, pressing her cheek against his soft hair.
In that instant, Rajveer’s guard slipped. As he walked to the side and pulled Arun into his own arms, “You shouldn’t strain yourself… you’re pregnant.”
